The paintings shown in this gallery are created through extensive layering and lifting of oil paint, cold wax medium, and other materials/mediums at times. Paint is layered, scraped back, textured, and drawn into resulting in ever-evolving paintings full of color texture, and pattern. I occasionally work in a water-soluble wax called Ceracolors.  Some of these paintings are included in this collection.

The art shown in this gallery is all abstract/contemporary/modern in design. These paintings are experimental and have been created using a variety of water-based media. These paintings may include more than one medium, combined with drawing, collage, or other mixed media elements.

These paintings are part of an ongoing series of slightly abstracted paintings from life. Most of these paintings are on wood panels.  They all start with a layer of acrylic gesso.  After the gesso, I work with watercolor, gouache, and Caran d'Ache watercolor crayons. The gesso is nonabsorbent making the surface slick.  It can be a little challenging and not a traditional watercolor painting technique but it is so much fun. I really enjoy the play of pattern against the smoother areas and the light that comes through the various layers. 

This series of paintings consists of 12×36 inch heavily textured gallery-wrapped canvases.  These paintings transport the viewer to a place or time that is personal to them.
