Experimentation and exploration are critical to my creative process. Color, texture and pattern are key characteristics. I primarily work in a variety of media, usually two or more types in a finished work. Many different media have been used in the past and often are reflected in current works. These include all types of water-based media as well as oil paint, cold wax, water soluble wax, charcoal, pastel, and graphite.
Surface materials are also a factor in experimentation. These surfaces include paper, canvas, wood panel, clayboard, paper coated with acrylic paint and/or mediums and gold leaf. Some of my work also includes gold and silver leaf that has been embedded in the paint.
Non-objective and abstract paintings are my primary concentration. My body of work contains many different subjects, including animals, people and landscapes.
